A young Angeleno who builds a career in tech, rather than taking the median-paying job in LA County, can expect to earn about $2 million more over their lifetime. Our Programming
We work alongside tech leaders to connect them with local, untapped talent to create new, transformative value through tech exploration, tech career exposure, and career experience. We aim to bring the tech community together around common civic goals and to fully harness and amplify the resources of LA’s tech community.
LA Tech Rising Internship Program
LA Tech’s flagship paid internship helps young Angelenos ages 18–24 gain hands-on experience through 12-week projects, mentorship, and professional development. Interns earn AI Pre-Apprenticeship and cohort-specific credentials, with technical, business, marketing, and creative opportunities offered throughout the year.
LA Tech Emerging Talent Academy
LA Tech’s Emerging Talent Academy prepares Opportunity Youth, especially young people leaving foster care, for careers in technology. During a 12-week program, Scholars explore technical, business, marketing, and creative pathways, receive coaching and career-readiness support, and earn an AI Pre-Apprenticeship credential.
Year-Round Internship Program
A multi-year leadership program for first-generation college students in STEAM and business, built with the Kayne Foundation. Fellows get multi-year mentorship, career support, and paid internships, plus a cohort of peers who understand what it is like to be the first in your family to do this.
Evolve Fellows Program
We work with a diverse number of LA youth from underserved communities. We create opportunities to convene and connect tech leaders in LA, from C-suite to future leaders. We support them through our mentorship program.

Application Process
Internship Pathways
Students will be supported through LA Tech's robust applicant tracking system. Every candidate gets access to resume reviews, career coaching, and a practice interview before being sent for an interview at a tech company. They work with individual companies to understand what they are looking for in order to make a better match.
